"Grow It! Eat It! by Linda Larson is for both novice and expert gardeners.  It includes information on how to grow and how to cook fresh veggies, fruits, and herbs.

First checkout the recipe for good soil and the advice on planning an organic garden.  Then decide if you want fruits such as apples, ground cherries, plums, raspberries, etc.  You may prefer asparagus, green beans, carrots, or one of the other featured vegetables.  There are also sections on culinary herbs, medicinal herbs, wild plants, and flowers.  For each crop learn:
  • Planting and thinning tips
  • When and how to harvest
  • How to clean and store
  • Why it is healthy
  • Great recipes that will satisfy the whole family.
This handy guide is on the new book shelf at the library and is just in time for planting season.
